Memorial Health Care Center opened in 1994 to provide senior citizens a beautiful alternative to living at home. We provide outstanding quality care in a comfortable home-like atmosphere.
What is the process for moving to Memorial Health Care Center?
Either by individual request or physician referral, our nursing staff will visit with you to determine how we can best meet your current and future needs. We are a custodial care facility and as such we are designed to take care of our residents basic health and daily living needs. Occasionally, individuals require a level of care beyond our designation. When this happens, we work with the family to find the most appropriate facility for the individuals needs.
What services will I receive at Memorial Health Care Center?
All of our rooms have basic cable TV and individual temperature controls. We have seven private rooms with large walk-in closets and private bathrooms. Our semi-private rooms have adjoining sitting areas and bathrooms. Residents gather in our spacious dining room for all meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served according to physicians orders and to our residents preferences.
What makes Memorial Health Care Center special?
We focus on providing quality care to our residents. One aspect that is unique to our facility is our Family Nurse Practitioner (F.N.P.). Our Nurse Practitioner is available Monday Friday to attend to our residents and to facilitate continuity of care between MHCC and the resident´s personal physician.
To enhance the daily care of our residents we have our own internal Certified Nurse Aide (C.N.A.)Training Program. This program allows us to individually train our nurse aides to meet Texas State C.N.A. qualifications. To further enhance the care our C.N.A.s provide, we utilize a state-of-the-art lift program. This specialized lift helps transfer residents safely, protecting staff and residents from accidental injury.
As a division of Memorial Hospital, we have access to the excellent therapy services of M.S. & Meek Lane Doss Physical Therapy Center. Residents can either go to the therapy center or therapists can come to the resident´s room. Our restorative aide program then helps residents to maintain physical strength and mobility.
Social and activity programs round out some of the outstanding quality features at Memorial Health Care Center. We offer a wide variety of activities and events for all functional levels including: in-room visits, devotionals, dances, games, group outings and much more.
